Top Beauty Picks for January 2019

Exciting news! Something new we are going to be doing here on the blog is a monthly feature on top beauty picks. Not only will we be testing products and writing our honest reviews, but we will also be giving away everything (brand new) featured in the article to one lucky winner! To win, all you have to do is follow the Rafflecopter prompts at the bottom of this article. Good luck, beautiful!

2019 is going to be your year! Start it off right with these beauty products that we bought and tested for ourselves!

What we did: we purchased a bunch of beauty products (at Walgreens!) and tested them. We then picked out four of our favorites and ranked them in the order we loved them, making #1 our top pick.

#4 Burt’s Bees Grapefruit Facial Towelettes

Pros: Smells awesome, removes heavy makeup, polishes skin.
Cons: Towelettes aren’t as wet as some brands. Might need to use two towelettes for heavier eye makeup.

These towelettes are fantastic at removing makeup and oil. Even my really stubborn mascara came off. What we liked most about this product is that it is 99.1% natural and isn’t tested on animals. Plus, the grapefruit scent is mood-lifting and really pleasant. It made my skin feel good; I didn’t have that leftover residue feel like I get from some other facial wipes.

Cost: About $5 at Walgreens or Amazon

#3 Kiss Ever EZ Lashes

Pros: Lightweight, flirty, and comfortable.
Cons: Can be tricky to apply due to the thin band. Doesn’t come with glue.

If you love artificial lashes, then you will probably buy only these from now on. Kiss has these new “Ever EZ Lashes” that are so comfortable. They’re made with human hair and are reusable. The bands are so thin and they don’t feel heavy on the eyelids. I barely noticed that they were there after I applied them, which I absolutely loved. To adhere, you’ll need to purchase eyelash glue, as it’s not included. We recommend Kiss Latex-Free Eyelash Adhesive.

Cost: About $6 at Walgreens or Amazon

#2 Jergens Instant Sun Mousse

Pros: Instant, beautiful color. Barely any streaking. Nice scent. Lots of mousse for the money.
Cons: Need to use a mitt for minimal streaking. Can stain white sheets!

Instant Sun is the perfect description for this product. The mousse really does provide an instant, gorgeous color that lasts for several days. The more you use it, the deeper the tan gets. If you want to look like you’ve spent a week in Florida for only ten bucks, this is the product for you.

Cost: Around $10 at Walgreens or Amazon

#1 Covergirl Outlast All-Day Lipstick in Deep Burgundy

Pros: Comfortable, smooth, and easy to apply. Color looks great on many different skin types.
Cons: Need to apply the gloss several times a day to maintain the look.

This is one of our favorite all-day lipsticks because it doesn’t dry out our lips like other brands. The-two step system is easy to use and the base color doesn’t dry out or become hard to remove. The gloss is comfortable, non-sticky, and it feels like an expensive product. The color is also very flattering for people of all different skin tones and hair colors. It’s definitely our favorite product this month!

Cost: About $6.50 at Walgreens or Amazon
